Corrections Policy

We try to get every detail right, but certification listings, model numbers and prices change, and we make mistakes. When we're wrong, we want to know, and we fix it.

How to report an error

Email hello@thewaterfilterlab.com with:

• the link to the page,
• what you think is wrong, and
• if you have one, a source that shows the correct information (for example an NSF, WQA or IAPMO listing, or a manufacturer spec sheet).

Anyone can report an error, including manufacturers and retailers.

What we do

1. We check the report against the original source.
2. If the page is wrong, we fix it.
3. We update the “Updated” date at the top of the article (the page's dateModified) so readers and search engines can see it changed.
4. If the error was significant (a wrong certification claim, a health or safety statement, or anything that changed a recommendation), we also add a short note to the page saying what was corrected.

We don't change a recommendation because a brand asks us to or because of an affiliate relationship. We change it when the evidence changes. See how we research and our affiliate disclosure.
